We went to the yearly home show in town this morning. Adam and I have some pretty crazy ideas at the moment which need to be tamed about home automation and design systems etc... very cool stuff. For those of you who don't know, home automation is the sort of thing where your air con turns on, curtains open, lights dim, security turns on and music blares all at the flick of the lcd panel 'switch'. Ya gotta love technology that hides in a pretty little lcd panel.    ... well ... I  do.

 

Anyhoo we went to the Clipsal stand (more like a van really) and chatted to a very helpful chappy. Adam got happy. Went to the Genesys stand - funniest thing ever... Adam told them I was a developer!! Yeah, I'm reading thru the C# programmers guide to the galaxy - but it's only chapter 3 and i'm already a developer!?!?!

 

I almost laughed my ass off. Had to hold it in so the very serious genesys man didn't think we were too phony. You've gotta love it when you can go up to a stand at these places and tell gullible sales people anything you want. you could pretend to be a bloody astrophysicist and they wouldn't be able to tell the difference... unless THEY were reading the  astrophysicists guide too... then you'd be up the proverbial creek.

 

So all in all a fairly productive day. We went out knowing little, and came back with 3kg's of brochures. Nice. More weekend reading.

 

Oh - and if anyone out there has brochures on more home automation stuff - pls feel free to send it along! There's one bit of cheeky carpet near the light switch that still needs to be covered.
